Vacation homes

There are very few places on earth that can top the US Virgin Islands as a holiday destination. The island of Saint Thomas is especially popular among tourists and vacationers. It’s home to Magens Bay Beach – considered one of the best beaches in the world – as well as the historic town of Charlotte Amalie, tranquil and scenic bays, luxury resorts, and so much more.

If you’re considering buying a vacation home in Saint Thomas or investing in St. Thomas, Virgin Island real estate, you can be assured you have plenty of excellent choices.

Where to buy a vacation home in Saint Thomas

Saint Thomas is made up of several distinct neighborhoods, each with something unique to offer. Any of these will make a great base for your Caribbean adventures. Your choices include:

  • Water Point
Located at Saint Thomas’s East End peninsula, Water Point straddles the calm blue waters of Cowpet Bay and Great Bay. The luxurious Ritz-Carlton resort is just a short drive away. The community boasts several amenities and attractions, including a tennis court, a bird sanctuary, and a private dock. It also has its own exclusive stretch of white sand beach.
  • Deck Point
Established in the 1960s, Deck Point offers a wonderful blend of older homes and new construction, giving homebuyers a wide array of options. Beachfront homes or homes with water views are plentiful here, and some come with a private dock. Located close to St. Thomas Yacht Club, Deck Point is a haven for boaters and sailors. The prestigious Anchorage Beach Villas condo development is also just minutes away.
  • Cabrita Point
If you want to build your Caribbean vacation home from the ground up, Cabrita Point offers topnotch opportunities. The community has a number of prime vacant home sites with amazing views of Great Bay or Muller Bay. It is also home to expansive single-family homes and estates with stunning architecture.

  • Cowpet Bay
Tucked between Deck Point and Cabrita Point, the Cowpet Bay community offers the best access to the beautiful waters of its namesake beach. It’s home to two prestigious condo communities – Cowpet Bay East and Cowpet Bay West – and is close to some of the island’s most famous attractions, including the Ritz-Carlton resort, St. Thomas Yacht Club, and the Mangrove Lagoon Marine Reserve.
  • Botany Bay
If it’s privacy you’re after in a vacation home, Botany Bay is the neighborhood for you. Nestled at Saint Thomas’s west end, Botany Bay features expansive waterfront homes and home sites with some of the island’s most stunning views. As a Timbers resort, it comes with a plethora of exclusive top-end amenities.
  • Frenchman’s Bay
This community offers the best of both worlds – the urban amenities of Charlotte Amalie and the beach life at three nearby bays. Frenchman Bay is highly popular, partly because properties here come in a wide range of sizes and prices, accommodating different budgets. You can choose from single-family homes, villas, and condos, in areas close to beaches or to the downtown area, or both.
  • Peterborg
Luxury is the standard in this peninsula, which lies between the Atlantic Ocean and the world-famous Magens Bay. Offering breathtaking views on all sides and great access to Magens Bay Beach, Peterborg has some of the most luxurious homes in the Caribbean.
  • Mahogany Run
Originally developed as a golf community around the spectacular Mahogany Run Golf Course, Mahogany Run remains one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in Saint Thomas despite the closing of the golf course. It’s one of the few guard-gated communities in the island, and boasts stunning waterfront or golf front homes, topnotch amenities, and easy access to the island’s attractions.
